Anthony Moore - “A, B, C, D, G’olfish” (from Pieces from the Cloudland Ballroom, 1971)

I only came across this composer Anthony Moore recently, for his incredible collaborative record with one of my favorite minimal-Krautrock fellas ARP (listen to / buy it here), but I quickly tried to find everything I could about him. He wrote lyrics for Pink Floyd, made a bunch of Krauty and minimalist music and had a band or something… well, I guess that’s all I learned about him. I mostly just listened to this track over and over. It’s a gradually evolving stream of pulses and acoustic riffs and sawing strings in a pretty, major-key mode, very subtle light and just unstoppably beautiful.
It begins and ends in fairly conventional ways, but it feels as if you’re listening in on a process that’s been going on forever. Great title, too.
